My new monitor arrived today! Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP 24″ widescreen LCD
January 8th, 2007
Today I got my own christmasgift to myself this year. It’s this little baby:

Yes SIR! the Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP 24″ widescreen LCD Flat Panel Monitor (nice customer reviews too) It’s simply amazing how that has worked out for me! Between Christmas and new year they had a sale on it now prices are up I see ^^
First of all it feels great to be able to type in a word document and casually have your browser docked on the same screen. recently studies have shown that it increases your productivity.
Secondly it’s amazing to open up photoshop and feel you have plenty of space – you can have the brush dynamics open and the pantone swatches and still everything is not crammed.
Thirdly – even though I don’t game that much =) – playing Counter Strike Source @ 1920*1200 pixels (16:9 wide screen) is not that bad either. I must say, that it performs as expected. When it’s running Counter Strike Source it has some problems in the sense that it only has a 60Mhz refresh rate and is has a 16 ms response time (black to white). I would say it’s ok but expect a little more blurry edges and also a bit lower fps (I might end up going SLI to get the full experience).
You gotta love the more spacious desktop both on your computer and on you real desk. To give You an idea here is a thumbnail press it to see the full size (it’s a gif so don’t let the quality fool you):
In addition the 2407WFP takes up much less space than my old CRT and it truly looks great. Has a casual sleek Dell design.
Parking lot photographed every 10 minutes.

This looks awesome! http://wvs.topleftpixel.com/06/12/18/ They are taking a picture of a parking lot every 10 minutes every day around the clock.

Three way LCD display
October 3rd, 2006
They have an article on a Sharp LCD that holds three pictures in one:

Sharp tops itself by showing off a triple view LCD display.
Sharp has already introduced dual view LCD displays last year. Today the company releases information of a liquid crystal display that shows three different images viewed from three different angles.
The display uses parallax barriers to separate the image displayed in the three different directions. What resolution the current triple view display has is currently not known.
Am I the only one thinking I could go on a plane and then watch a movie while the peakers next to my might be seeing something boring? or wait, something that would be offensive :D
Intresting Multi Touch GUI
October 1st, 2006
I am getting lazy just posting videos but here is a real nice one:
Multi-touch UIs are kewl and I am sure they will have some sort of impact one we get larger displays as a commodity.
You can touch and manipulate things directly on the displays surface, and the display registers more than one touch at a time. It can also capture gestures enabling the interface to expand over what can be done with a mouse alone.
Multi Touch is certain to something we will see a lot more of.
