“This is sparta!”

June 21st, 2007

Well yes! @kempa.com/ they have the story

One strategy that major record companies have been employing lately to deter downloading is adding bonus computer content to new CD releases. I recently discovered that this technique is not unique to CD’s, but had in fact been practiced in the vinyl era as well. That’s right: there were a handful of records released in the late 70’s and early 80’s that contained computer programs as part of the audio. This is totally insane, and totally great.

or this:

This is actually really interesting (well if your into that sort of thing).

I remember that my first computer the Commodore 64 came with a cassette deck and that deck played ordinary cassette tapes:

Someone in Østerbro was broadcasting computer programmes on local radio and we actually managed to tape that on a ghettoblaster and then play the game.

I wonder what others were thinking tuning in to that white noise :D

More pictures of the monster! (They are building a monster outside my window! (1) ).

My main view with all the nice trees and people hanging out on the grass.

Then there is this red container which some hate. I kind of like it. It looks kind of rough:

Then there is the MONSTER!!!!

and again!

I really hope I am suffering from the typical “Everything new sucks and so do all changes”-syndrome, but normally I don’t.

I wonder what they are going to have under the monster? Drug addicts and winos? Anyway, nothing that teargas and a Chinese air pellet gun wont solve.

You need to remember this here flash and then there is the Youtube edition:

New habits when working?

June 17th, 2007

Well I think there have been a real change in the way I work.

For instance I am spending this Sunday morning scavenging the Internet for information that I am filling in to my Google Notebook (I have come to love this application).

While doing this I am having Joost running in a window with music videos (Ministry of Sounds Techno channel). I could also be using some other net radio or just winamp, but more often I find I have video running in a window, while writing and doing mail. Once in a while I glance at the content, its mostly the audio I use…

Here is what that looks like if you have a 24″ wide screen Dell (like me):

Reading on the left and widgets to the right. I wonder why that feels more natural (but it does).

Well, here is the thing…

They put up notes calling for participation. They begged the whole neighborhood to participate. I did not spend as much as 4 minutes on their begging for talent…

I was lazy and naïve. I underestimated the range of stupidity that humans can exhibit.

Now they are building what they thought would be a nice idea. Luckily my apartment does not face directly at this monstrosity that they are erecting as a monument of idiotic stupidity.

Oh architects have you no shame…
