I will be @ MobileHCI 2006
September 3rd, 2006
I hope they are not all just dreamers ^^
It will be VERY interesting to see, what kind of approach these professionals have towards Mobile Interaction Design.
I hope there is a few eye openers coming my way. I am very much stuck in: Tasks, personas, scenarios and Design Patterns.
The latter seems to be taking me towards the structuralistic language theory. I am not sure that is the simplest way to do Users Experience Design.

So, you really were at Mobile HCI 06, caught a view of you in person :-).
So, did you enjoy this conference? There were some interesting new aspects to be found, with a focus less on tasks, personas and scenarios I guess. For me, the demos were actually quite cool, e.g. the immersive video demo.

I must say I was overall very impressed.
I was also very delighted to speak to so many people with the same interest as I.
My personal favourite was Dr. Matt Jones ( http://www.cs.swan.ac.uk/~csmatt/ ) Windows Mobile based Grand-Theft-Auto-style thumbnail explorer :-) That was indeed a nice control – I wonder how many clock cycles and how much memory it actually eats (although that is not going to be an issue in about 2 yrs.
I wish I had more pictures of the phone throwing contest
Some are on the MobileHCI06 Flick http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=mobilehci06&w=all (that you also posted).
